”I hope they feel at home here.”⁣.. ”I hope they feel at home here.”⁣ ⁣ Rebecca is a host community student studying in Soba Secondary School in Ajoung Thok refugee camp, South Sudan. She earned second place in a writing competition for refugee schools in the country. In her essay, Rebecca explored the meaning of home.⁣ ⁣ ”Since refugees came here many positive changes have happened in our community as we are benefiting from the same services made available them. Children from the host community have access to education in schools at the refugee camps, and as a result, we have many refugee friends. We are the same and there is no difference between us!”⁣ ⁣ ”Refugees are comfortable and welcome in our home - they are our brothers and sisters. I want them to feel at home here as they were forced to flee violence and conflict and deserve to live in a safe place.”⁣ ⁣ Thank you, Rebecca, for welcoming refugees and supporting them. We are so grateful for your support!⁣ ⁣ Photo: UNHCR/Martim Grey Pereira⁣ ⁣ #home #hope #refugees #WithRefugees #SouthSudan
